Here we have the final batch of Slade re masters from Unionsquaremusic/Salvo... Again another excellent collection.
4 CD'S, 3 off which are re mastered ("The amazing kamikaze syndrome", "Rogues gallery" and "You boyz make big noize" )
The fourth is compilation of ("The Slade collection volumes 1 & 2") all have bonus tracks and all 4 are well presented
and great value for money.
Firstly we have.....
THE AMAZING KAMIKAZE SYNDROME (Cat No: SALVOCD009)

This became Slade's best selling album in the U.S.A. and produced their biggest singles hit too "Run runaway"
reaching number 20 (U.S.A.) It is hard hitting CD containing the 10 original songs and 6 bonus track's which
compliment it totally. This CD contains 2 top 10 chart success "Run runaway (number 7)" and "My oh my"
(which reached number 2...denied the top spot by The Flying Picket's song "Only you") There is a 8 minute epic
"Ready to explode" which is well worth a listen (To me it's Slade equivalent to Meatloafs Bat out of hell) loud, gutsy
and a credit to them. All tracks are crystal clear and show that Slade had not lost any of their musical talent and
song writing. The bonus tracks are fantastic too, my favourites being "Keep your hands off my power supply" and
"Slam the hammer down" again both gutsy and loud (The way I like to remember Slade), enclosed is a very interesting
booklet by Chris Ingham including some good photographs....All in all a very good production and all for under £7.

ROGUES GALLERY (Cat No: SALVOCD010)

This CD contains the 10 original tracks plus 9 bonus tracks, giving just over 79 minutes of pure enjoyment, including
4 chart success singles such as "Myzsterious Mizter Jones", "7 Year Bitch", "All Join Hands" and "Do You Believe In
Miracles" This CD is on the quieter side of Slade, but still well worth a listen. My favourite track is "Walking On Water,
Running On Alcohol" which seems to been written about my lifestyle lol. The bonus tracks included are top quality
with 2 different versions of the original "My Oh My", and a few extended mixes such as "Myzsterious Mizster Jones"
and "7 Year Bitch" giving a kind of karaoke effect (had me singing along), all coming with an excellent booklet
including some nice photos (some I'd not seen before), again all well put together and crystal clear.
A bargain at just under £7 and a must for any Slade fans collection.

YOU BOYZ MAKE BIG NOIZE (Cat No: SALVOCD011)

Sadly this was to become Slades last album, but it wasn't a let down as far as I was concerned, it showed Slade
had not lost anything, they were still loud and beefy and could still write/compose good material. Sadly this album
only just got in the top 100(perhaps another reason for calling it a day). The CD contains all 12 original tracks plus
9 bonus tracks all re-mastered and crystal clear. "Big Boyz" is more of an anthem CD and the song titles come
across as if Slade are trying to tell fans something about them selves, some the great tracks are "Still The Same",
"We Won't Give In", "Sing Shout (Knock Yourself Out)", "Its Hard Having Fun Nowadays" and "Ooh La La In L.A."
The 9 bonus tracks have been well selected and include 4 different versions of "You Boyz Make Big Noize" which
wasn't released on the original vinyl, but was included on the CD released 1999, 1 version is a total instrumental,
so if you know the lyrics (which can be found at many Slade websites) you can sing along to your hearts content.
The CD comes along with a well put together booklet again, featuring some photos of the boys with Betty (the
tea-lady oat Wessex studios), who used to say to them "You boys make big noise"....Hence the album title.
Like I said this was Slades 14th and final studio album and must be a part of anyone's collection.
Grab it quick before they all go, and all for under £7

Finally we have
THE COLLECTION 79 - 87 (Cat No: SALVODCD205)
THE COLLECTION 79 - 87 (Cat No: SALVODCD205)

Sadly this is the final re-master from Unionsquaremusic/Salvo...But what a cracker this double CD is, combining
"The Slade Collection volumes 1 & 2" containing 33 great tracks and giving over 2 hours of Slade at their best.
CD 1

The 1st CD contains 17 tracks of superb quality totalling just over 62 minutes, containing 6 songs that reached the
top 10 in the charts "Mama Weer All Crazee", "Gudbuy T'Jane", "My Oh My", "Everyday", "Run Runaway" and "We'll
Bring The House Down", others well worth a listen to are "Wheels Ain't Coming Down", "Lock Up Your Daughters"
and "Myzsterious Mizster Jones". This CD is full of Slades energy and clear and crystal in sound.
There is not 1 track on this CD that I disliked, its Slade at their best spanning from 1979 to 1987.
CD 2

The 2nd CD contains 16 tracks of sheer class lasting 60 minutes, containing great songs such as "Rock And Roll
Preacher (Hallelujah I'm On Fire)", "I'm A Rocker", "When I'm Dancin' I Ain't Fightin'", "Slam The Hammer Down"
and "Ooh La La In L.A.", each track is sharp and clear and comes with a very good booklet by Chris Ingham, with
a little write up on each of the 33 tracks plus a few good photographs. The CDs were well re mastered by Tim Turan.
This double CD package is the last of the re masters and must be part of any serious Slade fans collection. A bargain
at just under £12 available from
On behalf of all the Slade fans across the world, I would like to congratulate Unionsquremusic/Salvo, Chris Ingham,
Tim Turan and Chas Chandler and any one else I have missed, on a fantastic project you carried out and hope it was
a great success.....all the best on your future projects.
